Dee is turning fifty and her family has planned a surprise birthday party for her. Included on the guest list are her former band mates from UNB.Her band ADDA enjoyed success by covering ABBA hits. Dee however decided not to join them on tour but returned home in 1981 due to family issues. Thirty years later she wonders if she made the right decisions. The party is not complete without an appearance by Ed a high school friend who is now an Elvis impersonator.
Dee’s hilarious Aunt Sylvie and Sophia reminder her that fifty isn’t so old after all. My mother’s Mega Party combines ABBA hits, jazz and folk music to ensure that the audience sings along through the silliness of Mega Party. It’s not all fun and games though.Dee has to make some serious decisions about what to do with life after fifty.
This production will be directed by Judy Lavigne, musical direction by Becka deHaan and stage management and design by Denise Ingraham.
